Purpose: |
The Table -
Content Section Menu Item adds a link that
will display a list of the categories in the selected section.
The number of Content Items in the Category can be displayed
beside the Category name. Selecting the link to the Category
will present a tabular list of Content Items in a particular
Section Category.
Details
- Name : Enter the name of the
Menu Item as you want it to appear on the menu
of your site. If you leave this blank, the Category
name will automatically be used.
- Section: Select a
specific section.
- URL : (The URL for this item will appear
after Apply/Save.)
- Parent Item : Select *Top* if you
want the Menu Item to appear at the same level
as your primary navigation. You can also put the
Menu Item under an existing Menu Item by selecting
that existing menu item as parent.
- Ordering: By default, Mambo adds
new items to the end of the Menu Items list. After
saving or applying the new item, you can change
its order when editing, using a pull-down menu
to select the item after which the item will appear.
- Access Level: Sets who can view
this item
- Published: Sets whether the Menu
Item is published or not. By default, new menu
items are set to be published.

Parameters: |
- Menu Image: Allows you
to set an image to appear to the left or right of the Item
on themenu. The image must be placed in the /images/stories
directory. Note: The 'Show Menu Items' option located
in the parameters at Modules -> Site Modules -> [name-of-menu]
must be set to 'Yes'.
- Section Title: Show/Hide the section title.
- Page Class Suffix: Allows you to set customized
styles for this page. The suffix you type here is automatically
added to the CSS classes for this page, and will have to
be defined in your template's CSS stylesheet for usage.
- Back Button: Show or hide a "Back" button
on the bottom of the page to allow the user to return to
the previously viewed page.
- Order by: Controls the order that the Content
Items will be displayed on the category page. In this drop-down
menu, one of the following options can be selected:
- Default:
Arranges items according
to the order shown in
the Content Items Manager
(Content -> All Content
Items)
- Title Alphabetical:
Arranges items in alphabetical
order
- Title Reverse-Alphabetical:
Arranges items in reverse
alphabetical order
- Ordering:
Arranges items according
to the order set in the
Content Items Manager
(Content -> All Content
Items)
- Category List - Section: Show/Hide the list
of categories in List View page.
- Description: Show/Hide the descriptions for
each category. The descriptions appear under the category
name.
- Description Image: Show/Hide the images contained
in category descriptions.
- Category List - Category: Show/Hide the list
of categories in Table view page.
- Empty Categories: Show/Hide the categories
with no items published.
- # Category Items: Show/Hide the number of
items in each category.
- Category Description: Hides or shows the
description of each category. The category descriptions are
defined on the category pages, which are accessible in the
Category Manager (Content -> Category Manager).
- Date Format: Set
the format for the dates of items to be displayed in
the category table. (See the Administration Manual for detailed
information).
- Date Column: Show/Hide the date column on
the category table. You can use the option set in the Global
Configuration page (Site -> Global Configuration) by setting
this option to *Use Global*, or you can override the Global
Configuration setting (for the category table page only)
by setting this option to "Show" or "Hide".
- Author Column: Show/Hide the author column
on the category table. You can use the option set in the
Global Configuration page (Site -> Global Configuration)
by setting this option to "Use Global", or you
can override the Global Configuration setting (for the category
table page only) by setting this option to "Show" or "Hide".
- Hits Column: Show/Hide the Hits column on
the category page that shows the number of hits for each
item. You can use the option set in the Global Configuration
page (Site -> Global Configuration) by setting this option
to *Use Global* or you can override the Global Configuration
setting (for the category pages only).
- Table Headings: Show/Hide the headings (*Date,*
*Item Title,* *Author,* and *Hits*) on the category page.
- Navigation Bar: Show/Hide the Navigation
bar on the category page. The Navigation bar shows links
to other pages, such as, << Start < Prev 1
2 Next > End >>.
- Order Select: Show/Hide the Order Select
dropdown on the category page. The Order Select dropdown
provides several options for your site's users to change
the order in which the items are displayed on the category
page. Changes that users make in the Order Select don't
affect the display for other users.
- Display Select: Show/Hide the Display Number
dropdown (detailed below) on the category page.
- Display Number: Sets the default number of
items to be displayed in the Display Number dropdown on the
category page. The Display Number dropdown controls the number
of items that users see at one time on the category page.
- Filter: Show/Hide the Filter text box on
the category page.
- Filter Field: Controls which field the filter
applies to. Options are *Author* *Title* and *Hits* (number
of hits that the item has had).
