Module: Latest News
Purpose:

The Latest News module shows a list of the most recently published Items that are still current (some may have expired even though they are the most recent). Items that are displayed on the Front Page Component are not included in the list.

Details  
  • Title: Title of the module to display on the page.
  • Show Title: Show/Hide the Title (above) of the Module on the page.
  • Position: Assign the Module to a position on the template.
  • Module order: The order the module will appear among modules assigned to the same page, in the same position.
  • Access Level: Determines who (which class of user) can view the Module.
  • Published: Show/Hide the Module.
  • ID: This is the ID number for the module item. This is auto-allocated by the Mambo system when the module is saved.
  • Description: A short description of the functions provided by the Module Type.
  • Pages / Items: Sets on which pages the Module will appear.

Parameters:
  • Module Class Suffix: A suffix to be applied to the CSS class of the module (table.moduletable) to allow individual module styling.
  • Enable Cache: Cache the contents of the Module..
  • Module Mode: Allows choice between display of Content Items, Static Content Items or both.
  • Frontpage Items: Show/Hide items designated for the Frontpage Component (this works only for Content Items).
  • Count: The number of items to display. The default is 5.
  • Category ID: Select to display items from a specific category or set of Categories (to specify more than one category, separate with commas). Categories IDs may be found in the list accessed through Content ->Category Manager.
  • Section ID: Select to display items from a specific Section or set of Sections (to specify more than one Section, separate with commas). Sections IDs may be found in the list accessed through Content -> Section Manager.
Toolbar Icons:
  • Preview: Preview Module. NOTE: You can only Preview typed modules.
  • Save: Save changes and return to Module Manager.
  • Apply: Apply changes without exiting the page.
  • Close: Cancel without saving your changes and return to Module Manager.
