£6The Heath Robinson Museum is proud to present Ralph Steadman: INKling, an immersive and comprehensive exhibition celebrating the legendary career of illustrator Ralph Steadman. This exhibition showcases over 70 years of Steadman’s groundbreaking work across four key themes
- Literary Illustrations: Explore Steadman’s iconic interpretations of Alice in Wonderland, Animal Farm, and Treasure Island.
- Children’s Book Illustrations: From Fly Away Peter (1963) to The Ralphabet (2023), discover the enchanting and playful side of Steadman’s artistry.
- Gonzovation: A visually arresting series focusing on endangered species and environmental activism.
- Hunter S. Thompson and Gonzo: Dive into the wild world of Gonzo art, created in collaboration with journalist Hunter S. Thompson.
Visitors of all ages will be captivated by Steadman’s mastery of penmanship, his bold use of ink, and his unique techniques, such as the “dirty water” approach that turns accidental splashes into intricate works of art. With works spanning multiple genres and decades, INKling promises an unforgettable journey through the creative mind of a modern art icon.
Her collaborations have ranged from Bollywood’s IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) and Hollywood’s Director Spike Lee to corporate giants like TATA, SONY & KIEHLS. In 2011, Tata Motors (India) commissioned her to convert one of their ‘Nano’ Cars into a work of Art, which she did using Italian glass mosaic by SICIS. Ketna’s artwork has been licensed to fashion companies, carpet houses, furniture makers, book, and album covers, and regularly been donated for fund raising initiatives from UNICEF, Elephant Parade & AWARE and more.
