Housing Repairs Phone Scam
Please be aware of any phone calls you receive from telephone number 020 3991 0438.
The caller purports to be from Harrow Council’s Housing Repairs department.
However, research conducted via the who-called.co.uk website shows this phone number is associated with a housing repairs scam targeting people in the London, South East and North West regions of the country.
You can report suspicious calls or texts by forwarding them to 7726.

Line Up For Our Concerts in The Park Season
This year’s line up for our Concerts in The Park season is:-
Harrow Steel – 28 July
“Harrow Steel” is a charity steel band. They were founded in 2019 and are based in the London Borough Harrow. The charity create an ethos of challenge and nurture that provides an opportunity for gifted and talented young musicians aged 13 – 21 to learn complex music aurally within a Steel Band.

Simply Gray – 4 August
Simply Gray are a classic rock, jump jive and do wop band. They first appeared at our concerts in 2019. Some of you will know them from their performances at St George’s Day and Pinner Village Show. They hold the record for the longest over run .

Nimesh is a well-known name in the UK Bollywood live music circuit, whose career spans over three decades. Nimesh is best known as a versatile singer and fantastically spontaneous entertainer who is extremely popular with audiences of all ages. Known for his ability to engage and captivate audiences with his magnetic and infectious personality, his versatile style leaves audiences mesmerised and always wanting “one more song”!

Stardust Big Band – 18 August
They are a London-based Jazz band playing music from early swing to modern big band spanning the 1920s to the modern day. With a mixture of music and very talented singers, you might find your self singing along or even dancing.

Harrow Foodbank – Vacancies for Trustee Board Members
I have just returned from visitingHarrow Foodbank and speaking to Chonde, the project manager. She told me that they are looking for two new trustee board members. If you are interested, continue reading.
Harrow Food Bank is part of the Trussell Trust – a network of over 1300 food bank centres in the UK. Between April 2022 and March 2023, food banks provided almost 3 million food supplies to people in crisis. More information can be found at www.trusseltrust.org

Vacancies for Trustee Board Members
Harrow Food Bank requires two Trustees to support the Chair and current members who can support the existing Trustees:
Administrator / Secretary: to lead on all the administrative duties of the food bank and Trustee Board, ensure all meetings are conducted within the legal requirements and a record of all meetings maintained.
Key roles & responsibilities:
- Arrange and communicate dates for all Trustee Meetings, circulating papers in advance
- Follow up on the agreed actions from meetings and keep an accurate ‘action log’
- Ensure all stakeholders are informed of the AGM and that the AGM report is submitted to all relevant bodies
Treasurer: to lead on the financial affairs of the foodbank and to ensure that they are conducted within the required legal accounting and good practice conventions.
Key roles & responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Food Bank has proper systems for budgeting, financial controls, insurance and reporting
- Produce and present regular finance reports for the Trustees Board Meetings
- Maintain accurate financial records as report in a timely manner to all relevant bodies

I have been informed that the parking payment meters in Love Lane car park and on Bridge Street are now “payment by card” only. They take Master Card or Visa contactless cards only
Pinner Rotary St George’s Day Celebration – Wheelbarrow Competitors Wanted
Sun, Apr 21st 2024 at 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
The highlight of the celebrations is always the Wheelbarrow Race, a unique Pinner event in which teams of two take it in turns to push their partner in a wheelbarrow, drink beer and race round the streets of Pinner. This starts at Little Common (just past the Police Station) and ends at Church Farm Green (opposite the Parish Church).

Our AGM and open meeting will be held on the 17th April 24 in thh Village Hall at 8pm. If you would like to influence Pinner’s future, why not be come a commitee member.

We invite people to stand for the position of Officers or the Committee. These must be made in writing (a completed PDF nomination form submitted via email or on paper), supported by a seconder, having obtained the permission of the proposed nominee, and sent to the Chair or Secretary (address on page 3) at least one week before the AGM.

New Constitution for The Pinner Association
We have updated our constitution which will need to be adopted at our AGM.
The AGM will be held on 17 April at 8pm in the Pinnner Village Hall. Our speaker will be Alex Dewsnap, Managing Director of Harrow Council. All are welcome.
