Pinner Local History Society Talk – Pinner At War
2 March 2023 @ 20:00 - 22:00
The next meeting of the Pinner Local History Society is on Thursday 2 March at 8 pm in The Pinner Village Hall. It is entitled “Pinner at War”. The Society’s Research Group will present how the two great wars of the 20th century impacted Pinner and surrounding areas including Hatch End, Rayners Lane, and their inhabitants. Everyone is bound to discover something new.
From the First World War we will learn about the young men who went to war and how the village was transformed in their absence.
During World War II Pinner was again transformed by the work of the Home Guard, “Dad’s Army”; and the devastating consequences of the bombs that fell on Pinner and surrounding areas.
If you know anyone who is interested in in the subject of WW1 or WW2 and lives or lived in the area, please invite them along. Visitors are very welcome (suggested donation £3).
