Pinner Local History Society – William Leefe Robinson

David Marks will give a talk called “William Leefe Robinson VC and the First Blitz.” William Leefe Robinson was the first British pilot to shoot down a German airship over Cuffley in 1916 during the First World War. For this he was awarded the Victoria Cross.  He was himself shot down and captured in 1917.  He died of Spanish flu shortly after release in December 1918 and now lies buried in the nearby cemetery of All Saints Harrow Weald.

Visitors are always welcome, suggested donation £3.
