The Metropolitan Railway during the First World War by Richard Dennis
6 February 2025 @ 20:00 - 22:00
When World War I broke out the Metropolitan Railway was made subject to government control. The Railway lost staff to military service and employed women in more roles. The company’s tracks through central London assumed major strategic importance for troop movements and freight between channel ports and the north.
